Back in 2022, I pulled off one of my biggest collector victories yet — the kind that still makes me grin every time I look at the shelf.
Every fandom has its “Grail,” that one piece you dream about owning someday. For me, it was Incredible Hulk 181 Mark Jewelers Edition. I’d been chasing it for ages, checking listings, scrolling through collector forums, and coming up empty. Then, out of nowhere, a friend of mine reached out — turns out he had one.
After a few excited messages (and a fair bit of disbelief on my part), we worked out a deal, and just like that, my Grail hunt was over. The moment it arrived in my hands, I was speechless. It wasn’t just about finally owning the piece — it was about the story behind it. Getting it from a friend made it even more special.
This collectible isn’t just rare — it’s personal. It connects to why I started collecting in the first place: that mix of nostalgia, art, and shared fandom that keeps the hobby alive.
Looking back now, that 2022 find still feels like a milestone. The year my collection leveled up — and my inner fan got the ultimate win.
